# Connecting

> Add the Momentra Events MCP server in ChatGPT or Claude — no API keys, no client registration.

Momentra uses the standard MCP OAuth 2.1 authorization flow. There are no API
keys to copy and no separate account signup.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the connector">
    Use the endpoint `https://mcp.momentra.org/mcp` (or click the Claude /
    ChatGPT app link).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let the host run OAuth">
    The host runs the OAuth 2.1 + PKCE flow. Momentra advertises CIMD
    (`client_id_metadata_document_supported`), a stable redirect, and
    `authorization_response_iss_parameter_supported`, so ChatGPT and Claude
    connect without manual client registration.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reuse the token">
    The host stores the issued token and reuses it across sessions and
    refreshes.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Discovery metadata is served from the endpoint's origin (RFC 8414
authorization-server metadata and RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata), so
hosts can auto-configure. For the full flow, see [Auth](/mcp/auth).

<Note>
  Some tools work anonymously (before linking) and simply return an empty or
  unauthenticated result. Account-scoped tools (your brief, matching, curation,
  profile) require the linked connection.
</Note>

## Add it in ChatGPT

ChatGPT custom connectors / Deep Research MCP require a **remote** server over
**HTTPS**, the **Streamable HTTP** transport, and the `search` + `fetch` tools —
all satisfied here.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open connector settings">
    **Settings → Connectors → Add** (custom MCP; requires a plan tier where
    connectors are enabled — currently Pro / Team / Enterprise / Edu).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the URL">
    `https://mcp.momentra.org/mcp`
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize">
    The connector UI runs the OAuth handshake automatically. The server
    advertises CIMD + RFC 9207, so ChatGPT self-identifies with no registration
    and no secret to paste.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable it">
    Save; ChatGPT lists the tools. In a Deep Research chat, enable the
    connector.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Add it in Claude

Claude custom connectors take the same URL and use the published-identity (CIMD)
OAuth option — nothing to register.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open connector settings">
    **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the URL">
    `https://mcp.momentra.org/mcp`
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose CIMD">
    For the OAuth client, choose **Use Claude's published identity (CIMD)**
    (recommended). Claude reads its client details from the URL Anthropic hosts;
    the server accepts that HTTPS `client_id` directly — no setup.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect">
    Save and connect. `search` works immediately; `fetch` / `index_org` prompt
    for credits.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Quick check (curl)

```bash theme={null}
curl -sS https://mcp.momentra.org/mcp \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -H 'accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}'
```

For a paid tool, add `-H 'authorization: Bearer mck_…'`.

<Note>
  **TLS is valid.** The ALB serves an ACM cert whose CN/SAN is
  `mcp.momentra.org`. Standard clients validate it with no bypass.
